5G is coming!

On October 25 and 26, Rogers, working with UBC, Ericsson and MobiledgeX, is hosting a 5G and Multi-access Edge Compute (MEC) codeathon and challenge and you’re invited!

UBC’s best and brightest Computer Science and Engineering students are invited to learn, collaborate, iterate and ideate on how 5G and MEC will change the landscape of gaming, AR/VR, and other edge-heavy use cases. Students will work on two MEC use-cases using MobiledgeX (MeX) libraries for gaming and facial recognition app development.

Students participating in this codeathon and challenge will get:

Hands on experience with cutting edge devices, 5G network, and MEC
E2E architecture overview of deployed 5G and MEC infrastructure
Access to technology and technology expertise from industry leaders (Rogers, MobiledgeX and Ericsson)
As part of the codeathon and challenge, Rogers Recruitment team is hosting a “Hack Your Interview” Session. Each team will participate in a 15 minute interview. The Recruitment team’s feedback will be incorporated with judges’ final decision.
