Working jointly with some of our developer partners like AICUDA, Holo-Light, and Unmanned Life, MobiledgeX has been collaborating to deploy applications that demonstrate the advantages of combining NVIDIA technologies leveraging GPUs with telco edge cloud infrastructure to help solve edge computing challenges related to GPU off-loading and bandwidth thinning.

Onward to NVIDIA GTC

We’re looking forward to presenting some of what we’re doing at NVIDIA’s premier technology conference: NVIDIA GTC - registration is free. MobiledgeX Developer Advocate Vasanth Mohan will be giving a presentation that describes how you can deploy NVIDIA edge computing solutions on telco edge cloud infrastructure using the MobiledgeX Edge-Cloud platform.

“We’re excited to be working with NVIDIA Metropolis to bring its applications to the telco edge,” says Mohan. “Applications that are part of Metropolis will be among the first to leverage the telco edge through the MobiledgeX Edge-Cloud platform and validate the commercial viability for both developers and operators.”

MobiledgeX and NVIDIA Metropolis

The NVIDIA Metropolis program has worked with many IoT and video analytics GPU-intensive applications that are solving problems in a broad range of industries including smart cities, retail, healthcare, factories and more. At scale, many of these applications have hundreds, if not thousands, of cameras and devices that require real-time processing. By leveraging the telco edge with MobiledgeX, applications can take advantage of the cheaper bandwidth costs, while not having to invest in their own on-premise edge solution.

Many of these applications are already available for production use today as part of the NVIDIA NGC catalog and in the presentation, Mohan will demonstrate how developers and operators can deploy applications from NGC onto the telco edge.
